I have some great new information for you, in regards to starting your website and getting it up the rankings in the search engines.

One of the most important things in getting a good page ranking is off site links, You need hundreds of links with the correct anchor text, among other things. If like me you don't know much about the web and links, there is a great program that can help you. But first let me tell you how it has made my life easier. When I used to get links I would visit link sites like LinkPartners and LinkMarket, go through their listings, hand write all the information of any sites that I wanted to exchange links with, most of these sites let you contact the other websites by clicking on a request link exchange button, this is the easy part. After copying all the information, I would then have to go to my website and type all the information into the correct areas, and upload it to my hosting server. Then I would need to notify the websites of where, on my site they could find their link and wait for them to reply saying if they wanted to link to my site of not. If not then I would have to rewrite the links page and again upload it to my hosting server. A lot of work and I was only able to get about 10 to 20 links per week in a good week, depending on the amount of time I had to spare. As linking to other sites is something that Google especially likes when looking at giving you good page ranking, It was going to take a very long time to get up the rankings.

If you are wondering why you need to get good page rankings, it's because if the niche that you are in has a lot of sites, like my niche "Crystal Healing" has well over 3million websites competing for the top rankings with these keywords, you can see how you need all the help you can get.

Well once again, one of the previously mentioned website people came to my aid with information about a program called Linkmetro you can just join as an ordinary member like the other sites that I have already mentioned or you can become and advanced member. I first joined as an ordinary member, but though this is not any better than what I already have, a little easier to find links and more of their other customers where requesting links to my site, this was encouraging but still time consuming, so I bite the bullet and joined as and advanced member.($19.95USD) per month. Boy was this a wise move, not only has it taken all the work out of placing a link on my site, just a click of the mouse when someone wants to link to me through Linkmetro and visa versa when I want to link to someone. And when I want to link to someone who is not with Linkmetro all I have to do is type in their information and it is automatically uploaded to by website, no more double and triple handling. It makes my life easier and also my visitors as I have been able with the tools provided by Linkmetro to make my links pages far more user friendly, I can add catergories with the touch of a button, making it easier to find information that my visitors might be looking for.

O.K. you say so it sounds better but how has it really helped my linking, well now I get something like 30-40 links per day and sometimes more. In the search engines I have moved up to #2 for the keywords Crystal Vibrations in MSN from not being on their radar and the same thing with Yahoo up to #8 from nowhere. My visitor ratio has risen by over 60% and people are staying longer on my site, showing me that I am targeting more people in my niche area, which is what I want to do. Now I there are other things that you can do that will help you in ranking well with search engines although they are not nearly as important as linking. Its called onpage optimisation, things like using the right density of keywords on your page, where to place your keywords and also what type of keywords you need for your particular niche. Here is were Brad Callen comes in again (Linkmetro is his baby). You can get free lessons in how to optimize your site for the search engines from Brad and these are really worth your while signing up for. But Brad also has another device that will help with your onpage and offpage optimizing, it is called SEOelite and yes it will make your life so much easier. It allows you to look at what the top ranked sites are doing and not only allows you to copy their stratergies, but improve on them, allowing you to not only move up the rankings but eventually pass them and get top spot. I must strees that this will not happen overnight, but it will happen if you follow the advice and guidelines that Brad gives you. As you can see by the figures that I have already quoted you, I have had big gains in as little as two weeks.
