EDITORIAL
Hello everyone ,
Please don't faint, this newsletter is actually on time. I know sometimes I even surprise myself.
Hey I spoke to soon, sorry about being late again but unfortunately my husband Jeff had a small car accident, no-one was hurt
thank goodnes, just a bit of damage to the cars, but I have been running him around and sorting out getting the car fixed. So
I hope you will understand me being late again. Now read on for the GOOD NEWS!!!
Well this months issue is going to be on a different theme than intended. You see my daughter Nicole and her partner Scott
have just given me some wonderful news I am going to be a Grandmother for the second time. And my amazing little grandson
Josh is going to have a little brother or sister. According to Josh it's a little sister and he cannot be swayed so I am
inclined to believe that I will have a Grandaughter this time. I really don't care as long as everyone is fine that all
that really matters and even if its not who cares, another member to our family is just great. I could go on and on and
I am sure you can see I am absolutely over the moon as is everybody else of cause. So this month I will be doing a feature
on pregnacy and healing crystals. There will probably be more in the future as Nicole goes through different stages and we
need to call on the healing powers of different crystals, but hey what a great way for you to see how crystals can help.
A real live demonstation so to speak.
O.K. What else has been going on this past month well we have finally had some decent rain you can hear the trees and
plants actually breathing a sigh of relief. But boy I forgot how cold it can be, we even had a little snow the other morning
and Josh has been on holidays these last two weeks and is very disappointed that he has not been able to make a snowman, not
that we get that much snow here in Ballarat, but kids like to hope. For those of you who were wondering about our Giant
Redwood trees in the Ballarat Botanical Gardens (read about it in "Where I Live") We did not lose one tree, thanks to the
brilliant efforts and devotion of our gardeners, things were looking very grim there for a while.
And to all of you who sent your excess rain that I asked for in last months issue a sincere and heartfelt thanks.
I am working on my next book which is a little different from the three previous ones, for those of you who are waiting on the
other books in the Crystal Vibrations series those are coming along fine, I hope to have the new book and one of the series
out by the end of the year or early next if things get in the way. I will be having a little more time to myself in a month or
so and will be able to devote it to completing the project that I am currently working on, so keep an eye out for release dates.
I must also warn you I will be giving you regular updates on the baby front, so be prepared.

HEALING CRYSTALS AND PREGNACY
Pregnancy is a wonderful time in a woman and man's life; it brings great joy and expectation and is a time to plan for the future.
It does not matter whether it is the first child or the thirteenth the joy is just the same. But along with all the joy come
other things the little nagging physical and emotional things that can sometime mar this wonderful time.
There are a number of crystals with their metaphysical healing properties that will help you through these times. I am going to
provide you with a list of ailments both physical and emotional that will be aided by the use of a crystal and its healing powers.
This list is by no means the total list and as my daughter is going through her second pregnancy I will be updating you with
anything else that comes up. It has been nearly eight years since we last had a pregnancy in the family and I know that there
are a lot of things that I will be forgetting to add in this newsletter so lets get started.
There is one Crystal that stands out as a must have for pregnancy and that is Moonstone the amazing crystal has an affinity with
both Mother and Child and is one that I always recommend to all expectant Mothers. As you will see it covers a lot of other
conditions as well.
Firstly the one thing that every expectant Mother goes through especially first time Mothers is Anxiety am I going to be a good
Mother? Will I be able to cope? This is normal and even women who have been through this before can have these thoughts. Now
don't think this article is just for Mothers these crystals will help the expectant Father as well, they have exactly the same
anxieties as the Mother and also need to look after themselves. So I would recommend that the following healing crystals will
aid in this area Amethyst Bloodstone Hematite (not magnetic) Labradorite Blue Calcite.
I would carry one of these wonderful gemstones with you at all times if you are finding yourself anxious.
The next most common complaint that pregnant women and get is
Backache sometimes this can be just an annoying niggles or full on pain so I would recommend the follow gemstones to help,
Garnet, Petrified Wood, Unakite.
You can either carry these crystals with you say in a back pocket or you could chose one
crystal
and use it to massage the back especially in the area of the pain. Be gentle you do not need to use pressure when using healing
crystals in this manner
Biliousness, another wonderful condition that comes to visit, usually in the first couple of months. Some lucky women never go
through this while others can be inflicted for the whole pregnancy (sorry not trying to scare anyone just stating facts) There
is
really only one crystal with the healing properties to ease this condition and that is Pearl. If the Biliousness only
appears in
the morning I would place it under your pillow or on a side table. If it persists all day then carry it around with you perhaps
near your stomach although the crystal does not have to be near the area to help it.
Birthing:/child birth and yes I know this comes later but I have decided to put this into alphabetical order or thereabouts to
make it easy to refer back to. There are a number of great metaphysical crystals that you can use at this time for both the Mother
and Father that will help ease the pain and the anxiety at this time and also assist the child to have a smooth entry into this
world Chrysocolla, Emerald, Malachite, Moonstone, Opal, Water Opal, Pearl, Peridot. Once again note the presence of Moonstone it
is very much aligned to this time in people's lives and its energy is just so soft and gentle. Just keep these crystals as near
as possible as the
doctors usually like jewellery removed at this time but if they don't object perhaps the Mum to be could wear a bracelet and Dad
for that matter or just place it in a pocket.
Breasts now this is really just for the ladies although I have heard of some fellows getting symptoms as well. The breasts
start
to swell and can be a little painful at times especially when the milk is beginning to come so the following crystals will
benefit the most Carnotite Pink Coral. A little further down I will mention lactation and crystals to help
Calcium Deficiency some women suffer from this during pregnancy I know that I did and sometimes they will give you tablets to
help. If you are like me and have a reaction then I can highly recommend the following crystals to help alleviate this condition
(they worked for me anyway) Amazonite, Sodalite, Thulite, these I would carry with you and also place them in your pantry to help
boost the calcium in the foods.
Coping: Ah yes this can be something that is hard on everyone. The woman's body changes and nothing is like it was before
it can
be stressful on everyone especially the husband so here are a few crystals that are wonderful for coping, their properties of
healing will assist you here. Turritella Agate Aragonite Carnelian Howlite and Sodalite
You can hold a crystal in your hand and just roll it around and concentrate on everything being fine. Place them in rooms where
you find yourself having feelings of not coping and just carry them around with you.
There are times when pregnant women can become despondent it's the hormones that do it girls and the following crystals will help
alleviate theses feelings Eye Agate Red Coral and Lepidolite Wulfenite.
Diplomacy is a skill that all expectant Fathers and friends of the expectant Mother need to acquire. Especially when asked
things
like do I look really awful in this top? Do my ankles look really big? Now you can answer these questions with the truth but it
is probably better to be diplomatic and say no that/they look fine to me, believe me your life will be so much easier, again
hormones are to blame so here are some healing crystals to help you attain some extra diplomatic skills Coral Copper Lepidolite
Moonstone and Watermelon Tourmaline
Dispelling fear this may seem like an odd one to put in an article about pregnancy but believe me it is one of the most common
things that happen to expectant Mothers and Fathers for that matter. They worry about the baby being fine during the pregnancy,
they worry about the actual birth and they worry about what things will be like after the birth will they cope, will they be good
parents even will the baby like them and so many more things. Use the healing properties of the following crystals to help
alleviate these fears Amazonite Angelite Aquamarine and Tourmaline
Emotions ah yes this is one of the really fun symptoms of pregnancy, bouts of crying for no reason, emotional highs and lows a
wonderful experience is this and I am sorry to say it can last the whole way through the pregnancy. So you will find yourself
calling on the following crystals to help bring emotional calm to you and the Mother to be.
Amazonite Bloodstone Emerald Howlite
Red Jasper Rose Quartz Smokey Quartz.
The expectant Mother can become fatiguedquite easily especially in the later stages of the pregnancy and those around her
can
also succumb to this condition as well, there is help at hand in the form of these wonderful crystals and their metaphysical
healing properties Turritella Agate, Ametrine Citrine, Dioptase, Blue Opal.
Lethargy this is another thing that can be a problem for mums to be but the following crystals will help ease this problem
Yellow apatite, Ametrine, Red Tiger Eye.
Fluid/water Retention the bane of all pregnant women, I think I have only come across a handful of women who do not retain
fluid in pregnancy. It can be very uncomfortable and make it difficult to get around if it is the legs, feet or ankles so use
Ocean Spray Agate, Anhydrite Moonstone Water opal or Stichtite healing crystals to aide with this condition. You could make an
elixir (only use the method I describe here
for safety reasons) and soak the feet and ankles you could also rub it on the
legs and arms as well.
Insomnia again this is not something everyone suffers from, but not being able to sleep the way you want can definitely
bring
disturbed sleep. Healing crystals such as Amethyst Charoite, Hematite (not magnetic) Herkimer Diamond Howlite, Lapis Lazuli
Moonstone, Sodalite Topaz Blue Tourmaline and Zircon placed under the pillow or on the bedside table will help you sleep
peacefully.
Lactation really not needed until after the birth but something that you need to have in hand before you go into labor. The
following crystals properties will help induce lactation and also provide good milk flow Chalcedony Chiastolite.
Mood Swings just like emotional upheaval this is a very real problem for the Mother to be and those around her so I would
keep
one of the following crystals handy at all times Halite Lepidolite Turquoise
Over sensitive again like mood swings and emotions but a little more of a reaction to something said or not said or to a
particular situation. I have found that expectant Mothers do not like to be told that their ideas are not the very best around
and they definitely do not like to be critised or told that they are wrong so the only crystal that I would recommend for this
is good old Moonstone
There are some general stones that cover the whole area of pregnancy and if you are unsure about what will happen during the
pregnancy especially if it is the first time then you cannot go to far wrong have a couple of the following crystals on hand
Chrysocolla, Howlite, Jade, Moonstone, Ruby and Unakite their healing properties will help in most situations.
Stress again something that is very common amongst both the expectant Mother and Father. I would use any of the following
crystals to help with stress, they can be placed in any room, carried with you. A good way to use them is to hold them in
your hand and either rub them or roll them around in the palm of your hand, it seems to have a very calming effect.
Moss Agate, Azurite Aquamarine Water Opal Herkimer Diamond Rose Quartz and Lapis Lazuli.
Tact a wonderful attribute to have when mood swings, over sensitivity and the emotions kick in, sometimes it can be hard
to have tact particularly towards the end of the pregnancy so at least one of these healing crystals should be a must on your
list. Albite Howlite Snow Quartz or Tourmaline
Tolerance again for the above reasons these crystals will be of great benefit to those around the expectant Mother and also the
expectant Father. Aquamarine Peridot Tourmaline and Aragonite.
Thrush/ Yeast Infections can be a real problem for the mum to be and as you cannot use most creams or lotions then these
crystals healing properties will be of great benefit. Again I would use an elixir but only use the method I describe
herefor safety reasons and use any
of the following crystals with the healing properties to address this condition Dendritic Chalcedony or Forsterite
Varicose Veins I can speak from personal experience with these babies, I had fairly nice looking legs before I got pregnant but
hey soon after they were road maps. Now Varicose Veins are usually hereditary so not everyone will get them, I must say it took
a bit to get rid of mine and you can still see where they were just under the skin. And I have a confession to make I did not
call on the crystals for help with these rotten little things, so it is entirely my own fault, anyway please do not follow my
example call on these wonderful crystals from the earth to help you with not only the look but also with the aches as well
Azurite, Betafite Leifite or Spectrolite
This next one is not something that we really want to think about but I cannot provide information without including the other
side
of the coin so to speak. My sincere wish is that none of you will need the following crystals but unfortunately some people have
experienced this condition, again I speak from experience and it is not something that I would wish on any person,
the emptiness that is left, the guilt that you feel "could I have done something to prevent it, did I do something to cause it?"
(there is nothing that you could have done about it) These feelings are something that cannot be explained to anyone who has not
been through
it and it never leaves you, I still feel it acutely even after 38 years. So for those of you who may need them there are
wonderfully healing and comforting crystals that can help.
Miscarriage: Jade Moonstone Apache Tears Obsidian
Feelings of Guilt: Apatite Charoite Garnet Peridot Pink Tourmaline
Crystals with the healing abilities to allow you to Grieve: Amethyst Azurite Apache Tears Obsidian Rose Quartz Sugilite
I hope that you find the information in this article of value, there are more healing crystals that will help with the above
conditions, but I have included the crystals that I have found are easy to get and are not very expensive as this is a very
costly time in peoples lives with all the preparation for the new arrival.

After a forest fire in Yellowstone National Park, forest rangers began their trek up a mountain to assess the inferno's damage.
One ranger found a bird literally petrified in ashes, perched statuesquely on the ground at the base of a tree. Somewhat sickened
by the eerie sight, he knocked over the bird with a stick. When he struck it, three tiny chicks scurried from under their
mother's wings. The loving mother, keenly aware of impending disaster, had carried her offspring to the base of the tree and
gathered them under her wings, instinctively knowing that toxic smoke would rise. She could have flown to safety, but had refused
to abandon her babies. When the blaze had arrived and the heat singed her small body, the mother remained steadfast.
Because she had been willing to die, those under the cover of her wings continued to live.
