Hello and welcome to where I live.

Here I will be giving you an insight into what happens in and around my home. The places, events and characters that make up our diverse community.

I hope that you will enjoy getting to know about my home and will visit us from time to time to catch up on what is happening.

My aim is to make the world a little smaller and friendlier through learning about our everyday lives. I have now added some photos to the site so that you know what we look like. You will find them at the bottom of the page

My hometown is Ballarat, Victoria, Australia.

We are a country town of approximately 84,000 diverse people. Ballarat is situated approximately 120 kilometers NorthEast of Melbourne which is the Capital City of Victoria. We are the second largest regional city in Victoria.

It is a wonderful place to live, our education facilities include two universities, a variety of higher education campuses, high schools and primary schools.

Our health facitlities are some of the best in Australia, we have two hospitals, a number of facilities for the more senior in our community and world class Specialists, MD'S and Nurses.

We have some of the best sporting facilities in the state. The rowing competitions for the 1956 Olympics where held on Lake Wendouree. And many rowing events are still being contested here today.

We are surrounded by farming land, utilised for sheep, cattle, grain growing, and alternative farming methods.

We are also very lucky to have some very beautiful bush (forest) around us as well. The state university has its forestry school just outside of Ballarat, in Creswick.

There are a number of great fishing spots around the area as well. (not that I catch much)

We have a world class tourist attraction in Soverign Hill, an exact recreation of a gold mining town of the 1800's. It attracts thousands of visitors from around the world each year.

There are many other attractions that I will introduce you to over time.

We have some wonderfull characters living in the area as well, most of them are just like you and me going about their lives, just a little differently.


I will be updating this page once a month (it could be anytime in the month so watch out) or if anything I think you would be interested in happens it will be sooner.
