Children love crystals and gemstones. They accept the stones healing abilities without question, they have not yet
learnt the distrust(misunderstanding) of adults.
I have seen kids pick up crystals at markets and stores and just hold them in their hands, roll them around and look at
the crystals or gemstones from different angles, looking at they way the light plays on the stone. The looks on their faces is
priceless and heartwarming.
One of the best ways to introduce kids to Crystal healing is to let them play with crystals and gemstones without telling them anything
about the abilities or properties of healing. They will come to you and ask in good time.
I know of schools that have crystals in classrooms, some for scientific purpose, some for decoration and some for the healing properties.
I have heard of one school where a teacher keeps a basket of crystals at the front of the class and the children can go and select a crystal from
the basket if they feel unwell, unhappy or just feel the need. The reports are that these kids are having less days off school due to sickness
and are much better behaved and seem to be learning easier. I can not confirm this as I have only been told about this, the school is in America
somewhere, I would be please if anyone knows of this school and could let me know, I would love to get in touch with them and discuss what is
happening there.
I know that kids and crystals go together from my own observations over the years. When ever kids come to my house they always go to the crystals
and look at them and ask if they can hold them. I always let kids handle my crystals (but not the ones that my be toxic or some like the Okenite
crystal which is very delicate. That I place on a glass plate and let the kids hold the plate and very gently touch the crystal (I do this with
adults as well), I have never had a crystal or gemstone broken or damage by a child(or adult for that matter). I do not hold with the school of
thought that says no-one but the crystal owner should handle the crystal. But do we really own the crystals and their healing abilities I think
not.
If you are thinking about introducing crystals and gemstones to kids, then I would suggest that you start with animals carved from crystal
these are usually nontoxic but you should check just the same. Also crystals that are rounded and shaped like marbles, they can actually be used
to play games of marbles(the harder crystals anyway). I have done this and its great fun, you know there never seems to be any arguments during
these games, funny that. You could also try Quartz Crystal that has been dyed, a lot of them are dyed bright colours that attract kids eyes, also
there are some great patterned agates around that kids just love.
Don't worry about breakages, like I said before I have never had a crystal damaged by a child although that does not mean to say that it will
never happen, but if it does then if the pieces are not to small or sharp then let the child have both bits and tell them they now have double.
A WORD OF CAUTION HERE MAKE SURE THAT THE HEALING CRYSTALS AND GEMSTONES ARE NOT TO SMALL THAT A CHILD COULD
CHOKE ON THEM, YOU KNOW KIDS NOT MATTER HOW MUCH YOU TELL THEM NOT TO PUT THEM IN THERE MOUTH, THATS THE FIRST PLACE THEY WILL GO. ALSO CHECK
THE TOXICITY OF THE CRYSTALS SOME LIKE MALACHITE ARE FINE IF THE ARE POLISHED BUT TOXIC IF UNPOLISHED, ALSO THINGS LIKE SULPHUR AND LEAD CRYSTALS
CAN BE DANGEROURS. THERE ARE A NUMBER OF CRYSTALS THAT NEED CAREFUL HANDLING SO IF IN DOUT DONT
Some suggestions for crystal healing stones, if a child is hypractive or just a little over the top, Red or Black crystals are a good choice
as they will ground the child and calm them down.
Let the kids explore and experiment with crystals and gemstones. Kids tend to want to see want happens when they do different things with
crystals, if you observe them you will be amazed at what you can learn about crystals and their healing abilities. Our Kids are the generation
I believe that will really start to take this world in a new and better direction, lets nurture them now for the sake of the children and the
planet.
